What Makes Men Cheat? Why Do Men Cheat?

Monday, March 29th, 2010

An answer that has long been awaiting an answer is why do men cheat? It seems as though the number that cheat is higher than the number that don’t. You see men with beautiful women on their arms and the next thing you know they have broken up because he cheated.

The old saying men will be men, has been turned into an all around cheater slogan. A real man is not a man that cheats on his women because he wants another. A real man is someone who is willing to work out his relationship problems in hopes of saving what he already has waiting for him at home.

Boredom is another common excuse, but you would have to ask them if they have ever bothered to talk about it with their companion. It is only natural that the initial passion wears down a little bit, but you have every opportunity to liven it back up. It’s a two way street and you can’t blame boredom solely on the woman. Take a look in the mirror before you go chasing after someone else.

A man measures his manhood by what’s in his pants instead of what’s in his head. The reason why so many men do this will never completely be determined and the answer to why do men cheat is a mystery. God gave men two different heads to use in order to navigate life. Many choose to use the one that will get them no where but divorced and alone.

Why Are Guys Unfaithful?

1.  Being Alone.

Guys tend to be more lonely than girls because they don’t have that external connection that is necessary to get deep over drinks with their buddies.  have conversations, they typically discuss external topics, not internal ones.  In contrast, women tend to be more inclined towards meeting with their close friends and having heart-to-heart talks.  This emotional vent is not usually open to a lot of guys, so they bottle up everything until they’re about to pop.  When this happens, a lot of men wish to spend time with other women.  When a guy becomes excessively sad, he typically becomes weak emotionally and opens himself up for the possiblity of cheating.

Before asking your friends why this is happening to you, you have to first step back and look at how you treat your man, and whether or not he feels comfortable telling you anything that he is dealing with.

2.  Emotional Claustrophobia.

Men can be easily overwhelmed by a woman who is jealous.  A guy simply cannot stand the impression that he is being controlled.  Additionally, a man being controlled doesn’t believe that you can’t trust him enough to let him do his own thing.

Men tend to cheat when they get the impression that a woman’s love is sucking the air out of their lungs – which makes an affair an escape hatch.  Men are not cheaters because they genuinely want to be apart from you, but because they have to have that feeling of independence they miss.  When a woman tries to domineer his life, particularly by controlling his social life, then she gives him no room to be himself.  As a result, a man views an affair as a naughty yet liberating experience.

Placing trust in your man is the way to prevent this from occurring.  Give him room to act as he wants.  You have to let him go out on the town every now and then without completely suffocating him and not letting him have any peace.  Give him a break and you’ll make him feel trusted and loved.

3.  Not being ready to commit.

You can’t force a man into commitment, because every man has a different perspective on maturity and a different time in which he will be ready.  When a man is unfaithful, he is so because he is given no choice but to commit and has to rebel.  It is okay to believe it is immature, but the truth is it is a part of who he is.  The best thing you can do is to avoid forcing a man into commitment.  Relying on a man’s guilty conscience cannot end well for you.  If your man has feelings of unpreparedness when it comes to being only with you, then his inability to give you want you want will only hurt you in the end.
